Ferrari has called-off the unveiling ceremony of the 2012 Formula 1 car launch due to excessive snowfall in Maranello. The launch was due to take place in Italy on 3 Friday morning, but there has been no let up in snowfall since Wednesday and the temperatures have dipped to -10 degree (C). The decision was taken as the 300 odds guests including the team partners, the authorities and representatives of media would have found it difficult to reach the venue.

Ferrari has now issued a statement that the car will be shown online, along with the interviews of the team drivers and officials. Ferrari was the second big team set to unveil their car this week after McLaren, which would have clashed with the launch of Sahara Force India F1 car.

Italian team will participate in the preseason tests starting next week at Jerez circuit, in Spain and the 2012 Formula 1 season begins on March 18 in Australia.
