Fiat planning for a better market share in 2014 with launch of Jeep brand in India

Fiat is now planning to launch a few more cars that could probably change the way people look as a brand. The carmaker has been in news for the pre-launch and launch news of Jeep brand back in India. The carmaker is due for the launch of Grand Cherokee and Wrangler SUV and off-road vehicles. Also in the pipeline is the crossover based Punto by next year.

The new concept of Pseudo-crossover has not really worked in the Indian market – we have already seen the meager number of sales of Skoda Fabia Scout and VW CrossPolo. In this way, adding another option of the same category – could possibly increase sales for Fiat only if it priced significantly low but that is a rare case. We have been talking about how Jeep will re-enter the Indian counterparts and compete the German carmakers in their segments. There is news that the first Jeep models will be brought to Indian roads via the CBU route but the company plans to manufacture the Jeep SUVs locally in India.
