Mahindra & Mahindra seems all set to again mark its entry in the Indian motorcycle segment with the launch of two iconic 110 cc bikes, Pantero and Centuro. The auto maker welcomed the New Year with the unveiling of both the models, which will be soon offered to the Indian buyers. The showcasing ceremony was organised at Mumbai, which witnessed the presence of company’s senior officials.

Industry experts believe that the auto maker is looking for a right time for the launch of its new models in 110 segment. Reportedly, these models will surely attract attention from Bajaj’s recently introduced Discover 100 T, which created a buzz among the Indian auto aficionados post launch. However, it must be noted that M&M was unable to create a significant impact on the Indian buyers with its previous offerings. The exact pricing of the new model is yet not confirmed and is expected to float between Rs. 43,000 and Rs. 49,000.

Both, Centuro and Pantero, are designed at the company’s in-house R&D centre in Pune. As per sources, the auto maker has designed both the bikes from scratch within tenure of 1.5 years. Reportedly, both the models are fitted with a Micro Chip Ignited 5-Curve engine, produced at M&M’s Pithampur plant near Indore.

Mahindra Pantero will be positioned in eco-commuter segment and happens to be the first bike which is exclusively targeted to the first time motorcycle buyers. Its engine is expected to generate a peak power of around 8 bhp, which seems quite impressive for a 110 cc bike. With this power output, the company claims that Pantero will deliver an impressive mileage of 79.5 kmpl (ARAI certified). Other USP of this bike is its ground clearance of 165 mm and a seat length of 774 mm, which makes it longest in Mahindra’s array.
