Tata Motors, though with the launch of Safari Storme in October 2012, tried hard to hold the grip in Indian auto market, and of course it got succeed to some extent, but the equations were not so easy to be equalised. So the auto group, which is currently stuck with 12% market share in the industry, is looking for more increased market share. And in the same vein,  Safari Storme has been launched in Kolkata by the company. Tagged in a price bracket of Rs. 10.04 lakh and Rs. 14.12 lakh (ex-showroom Kolkata), the sports utility vehicle Safari Storme will hopefully take Tata on new heights, said Ashesh Dhar, head, Tata Motors utility vehicle product group.

Dhar said "Indian SUV segment is growing with a high pace and is currently enjoying 50% growth rate. And Tata too is doing good to keep tempo with industry. Around 16,000 Storme have been sold in last financial year and now company is aiming to increase its market share with new Tata Safari Storme."

As far as technical specifications are concerned, Safari Storme is housed with a 2.2 litre DiCOR engine, which is competent to deliver a maximum power of 140 Bhp @ 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 320 Nm @ 1,700-2,700 rpm.

The new Tata Safari Storme is aimed to take on the likes of Mahindra Scorpio, XUV 500 and Renault’s Duster in Indian market.
