Ford India reports an increase of 42.2 per cent in December 2012 sales

Ford Motor, the well-established American auto maker, registered a growth of 42.2 per cent in December 2012 sales compared to the year-ago period. During the month, the auto company a growth of 9 per centcompared to December 2011. Exports of Ford India jumped up by record 160 per cent compared to December 2011. Similarly, year-to-date exportswere up by 35 per cent from 2011.

Joginder Singh, President and Managing Director at Ford India said, “Despite a tough business environment, we have seen record exports and sustained customer interest in December. The company would continue to focus on creating products and services, which would have quality and green as well as safe attributes.”

As a sales exercise, Ford India organised a ‘Midnight Sale’ on 5th December 2012, wherein 160 dealerships across the country were open from 8 am to midnight. Customers were able to win free gifts and avail exciting offers with every purchase at the Midnight Sale. Throughout December 2012, celebrations were organised in the form of ‘December Dhamaal’.
