Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India and its Gujarat facility have been in news since a long time. And now finally S Y Siddiqui, Chief Operating Officer of Maruti India has confirmed that Gujarat plant with a whooping investment of Rs.4, 000 crore will be commissioned by the middle of year 2015 at Bechraji in Mehsana district of the state. Aspired to develop 2, 50,000 cars per annum from this new facility, Maruti Suzuki India will take the total production count to 20 lakh per annum, once the Gujarat facility starts working.

Siddiqui said "Currently Gurgaon and Manesar units of Maruti manufacture 17 lakh cars per annum. Offering his views on the occasion of the FGI EXPO 2013 Agro & Auto Summit, Siddiqui suggested that there is a huge imbalance between both petrol and diesel cars demand. With the mounting cost of petrol, diesel cars demands have been gradually increasing, resulted in long-waiting period for diesel cars, so there is needed some kind of stability in the demands. 2012 has been sluggish year with high fuel prices and high interest rate along with rupee depreciation in the country."

Siddiqui said "With an aim to employ more skilled manpower in the factory, Maruti will establish up 4 to 5 ITIs in Gujarat with a overall count to 50 in India, however, for the same company has undergone partnership with Industrial Training Institute."

Well, as said earlier by company officials, Maruti is no mood to enter in to premium car segment, it will relatively concentrate on small cars manufacturing.
