Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha to sing the National Anthem at 2012 Formula One Airtel Indian Grand Prix

Prominent Bollywood A-listers, Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha are going to enthral the domestic and international audience at the final afternoon of 2012 Formula One Airtel Indian Grand Prix on October 28, 2012, by singing the National Anthem.

The lead actor pair of upcoming comic extravaganza - 'Son of Sardaar' will sing the national hymn, just before final race, which has been scheduled to start at 1500 hours on Sunday afternoon at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.

Ajay Devgan being an avid motor sporting enthusiast himself, is extremely upbeat about the Indian edition of the Formula One World Championship. Expressing his delight on his scheduled performance before the start of final race, Devgan said, "I have been busy with the post production of 'Son of Sardaar' and F1 is going to surely be refreshment for me. It feels great to be a part of this sport as it has perfect combination of entertainment, action and excitement. And I am surely going to enjoy the experience and I wish luck to all the racers."

Askari Zaidi, Senior Vice President (VP), Corporate Communication, Jaypee Group, said, "We are pleased to announce that Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha will be a part of the final day ceremonies of the Indian Grand Prix. The association of Bollywood and Indian Grand Prix is not a new concept as the 2011 edition witnessed a number of Bollywood superstars, such as Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan, Preity Zinta, Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal and Rahul Bose marking there presence.

The icons of the Indian National Cricket team also cheered the speed and thrill quotient of the world's most expensive sport, such as Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh and Virendar Sehwag. Interestingly, it was Tendulkar who was given the honour of waving the chequered flag at the end of inaugural Indian Formula One Grand Prix.

The Indian edition of FIA formula One World Championship also attracts a number of business tycoons like Vijay Mallya, Robert Vadra, Richard Branson and Subrata Roy, who cheered the world motor sporting spectacle along with their favourite teams and drivers.

Last year, the inaugural edition also witnessed the presence of International celebrities like the popular singer Lady Gaga and favourite British comedian-actor Rowan Atkinson. While Lady Gaga performed for an after-race party, Atkinson went into his popular alter ego 'Mr. Bean' for a short while on seeing the Hamilton - Massa crash.
