Tata Motors to roll-out 50 new products in commercial vehicle segment

Tata Motors is planning to launch as many as 50 new products and new variants of existing models in the country in the coming years. These upcoming new models and variants will be across the segments including sub-one tonne trucks and heavy duty Prima truck range. The company is planning to invest a sum of over Rs 1,500-2 ,000 crore in its India operations to cater the development of these new vehicles.

Mr. Ravi Pisharody, head commercial vehicle division said, "We would be launching a series of new products and variants across categories right from our sub-one tonne trucks to our Prima range. We will also be introducing our Y1 light commercial vehicle range by September." He was speaking on the sidelines of a SIAM HR conclave.

The company has said that they are operating at a capacity of 70 percent amidst the tough market conditions for the medium and heavy truck segment. The sub-one tonne truck segment vehicles of the company including Ace Zip, Magic Iris, are doing quite well and have crossed a sales market of 5,000 units.
